St Wilfrid’s Hospice Chichester
What is the Big Get Together?
It’s an opportunity to Get Together with your friends or family and have some fun – and one of the easiest ways to raise money for local hospice care. St Wilfrid’s Hospice Chichester has joined up with other hospices across the South East to invite you to be part of The Big Get Together in October; all you have to do is ask your guests to make a donation that will go straight towards providing hospice care in your local community. You could invite the family around for a barbeque; hold a cocktails and canapés evening; watch films and eat pizza in your PJs; dance like divas or simply raise the roof with a good old-fashioned gossip; hold a Halloween themed get together in October; a bonfire party in November; a Christmas themed soiree in December or a New Year Get Together in January! You can be as sophisticated or silly as you like!FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE BIG GET TOGETHER
Why should I hold my own Big Get Together?
Because all money raised at your Big Get Together goes straight to St Wilfrid’s Hospice Chichester. But the best part is you decide what sort of hospice-tality you offer, it couldn’t be easier! It could be the perfect way to celebrate a special person, on a special date, in a way that is fitting to celebrate their life whilst enjoying the company of your friends and family.
When should I hold my Big Get Together?
Well, that’s up to you too! You can join thousands of other people and hold your gathering in October, during Hospice Care Week (9-15 October), or if your Get Together will be to remember a loved one, you can choose a date that is more memorable to you.
So – sign up and get your pack full of ideas and inspiration today!
About St Wilfrid’s Hospice Chichester
Since opening our doors to our first patient, Gwen, in January 1987, St Wilfrid’s Hospice has cared for more than 15,000 local people, and their loved ones.
At any one time, we care for over 240 people in the community, and also offer support to their families and friends.
Our services include a 14-bed Inpatient unit, a Hospice at Home nursing team which provides care in people’s own homes, a Day Hospice, a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists, psychological and social care, occupational therapy and physiotherapy, emotional and spiritual support and a complementary therapy team. Our multidisciplinary team of clinical and caring professionals is on hand to ensure that the highest quality of care is delivered where it is needed.
We also have an Education Centre which works with health professionals across the community in a range of settings including care and nursing homes.
All our services are provided free of charge. We receive just 13% of our funding from the NHS so we rely on public support to raise 87% of our annual running costs, which this year will be just over £7 million.
Our catchment area extends from Emsworth to Arundel, and includes areas south of the Downs.
How Your Support Helps
We must raise just over £7 million a year to continue providing our high quality services without charge to the local community. As we rely on public donations, your support at the Big Get Together is hugely appreciated and will make a real difference to local people.
- £23.65 to help pay for one hour’s Inpatient care
