Primrose Hospice

What is the Big Get Together?

It’s an opportunity to Get Together with your friends or family and have some fun – and one of the easiest ways to raise money for local hospice care. Primrose Hospice has joined up with other hospices across the South East to invite you to be part of The Big Get Together in October; all you have to do is ask your guests to make a donation that will go straight towards providing hospice care in your local community. You could invite the family around for a barbeque; hold a cocktails and canapés evening; watch films and eat pizza in your PJs; dance like divas or simply raise the roof with a good old-fashioned gossip; hold a Halloween themed get together in October; a bonfire party in November; a Christmas themed soiree in December or a New Year Get Together in January! You can be as sophisticated or silly as you like!

Why should I hold my own Big Get Together?

Because all money raised at your Big Get Together goes straight to Primrose Hospice. But the best part is you decide what sort of hospice-tality you offer, it couldn’t be easier! It could be the perfect way to celebrate a special person, on a special date, in a way that is fitting to celebrate their life whilst enjoying the company of your friends and family.

When should I hold my Big Get Together?

Well, that’s up to you too! You can join thousands of other people and hold your gathering in October, during Hospice Care Week (9-15 October), or if your Get Together will be to remember a loved one, you can choose a date that is more memorable to you.

About Primrose Hospice

At Primrose Hospice we care for people living in the North East Worcestershire area with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect, in our Day Hospice, or at home. We support families, including children during a person’s illness and into bereavement. We still have a way to go, too many people in our community are not receiving the care they want or need at the end of their life.

Our vision is for everyone facing the end of life, whoever they are and wherever they might be, to have the best possible care and we believe hospice care is critical to achieving this.

Every year we have to raise £1.75m to run our services with only 16.4% of that coming from the NHS, this includes our Day Hospice and the Coppice Centre, along with all the work that our nurses and multi-disciplinary team do with patients and their families in their homes.

How Your Support Helps

Every pound you raise makes a huge difference to us here at the Primrose.

Your support will help us to care for people living with a terminal illness, as well as support their families and friends, when they need us the most.

  • £200 would provide a course of bereavement counselling.
  • £150 would provide a night of care in a person’s home enabling a carer to rest knowing that their loved one is in a safe environment.
  • £57 would pay for one hour’s specialist nursing care
  • £26 would go towards developing a memory box for a child to remember their parent’s favourite things.
  • £12.00 would provide a nutritious meal and snacks for our day hospice users.

How to Pay your money in

If you have not set up a Just Giving page to raise your money, don’t worry- you can send us a cheque, made payable to Primrose Hospice for the total amount raised along with a note of your name and address. Our address is:
